Cerveny Klastor
Cerveny Klastor - courtyard with the Tri Koruny ("Three Crowns") peaks in the background.
This monastery with its original Gothic church was founded in
the 14th century by the Carhusian order, and passed to the Camaldolese
in the 18th century. The monk Cyprian, said to have flown from
the Three Crowns peak on a flying mashine, also achieved fame as
a botanist. The monastery apothecary is one of the oldest
in Slovakia and the whole complex is a National Cultural Site.
